Certified Backflow Prevention Inspector (Contractor)
Position Overview
Kimball Township is seeking a skilled and certified Backflow Prevention Inspector to join our team as a contractor. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our water supply remains safe and free from contamination by preventing the reverse flow of water from any domestic, industrial, or institutional piping system into the public water system.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of backflow prevention assemblies within Kimball Township.
- Identify any issues or risks associated with backflow prevention devices and recommend corrective actions.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs.
- Educate property owners and stakeholders about backflow prevention and water safety standards.
- Stay updated with local, state, and federal regulations regarding water safety and backflow prevention.
- Work closely with the township’s water department to ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Backflow Prevention Inspector from a recognized and accredited organization.
- Proven experience in plumbing, water quality, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal water safety and backflow prevention regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with property owners, stakeholders, and township officials.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Contract Details
- This is a contract position with flexible hours based on the needs of the township and the availability of the contractor.
- Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Contractors are responsible for providing their own tools and equipment necessary for the completion of their duties.
