Establishment of Trust Fund
The Kimball Township Board of Trustees has approved an increase in the landfill impact fee from $0.10 to $0.30 per ton. This adjustment is a proactive step to ensure that our community is better prepared to address any future concerns that may arise at the landfill.
Of the new fee, an additional $0.20 per ton will be deposited into a dedicated trust fund. This fund will provide immediate resources to protect residents and respond quickly should any landfill-related failures occur again.
To ensure transparency and community involvement, the trust fund will be overseen by a three-member board. This board will review needs and make recommendations to the Township Board on how the collected funds should be used. The trust fund board will meet on a quarterly basis.
We are currently seeking one community member to serve on this three-person trust fund board. This is an important opportunity for residents to play a direct role in safeguarding our community’s future.
