On November 20, 2023,  Kimball Township held an important townhall meeting to address the ongoing situation regarding the constant and unpleasant odors emanating from the St Clair County Landfill. The purpose of the meeting was to facilitate a comfortable and less formal setting that would enable community members to express their concerns as well as raise questions on the issue.

This community gathering was attended by notable officials such as the County Board of Commissioners, Landfill Management, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, St Clair County Health Department, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Service. The attendance of these top officials was crucial as they listened attentively to the community’s worries and feedback.  Matt Williams, the landfill manager, did a presentation on the issue.
