Kimball Township is pleased to announce that it has hired a new assessor. Kelly Timm was hired by the Board of Trustees on October 7. The new assessor was one of three candidates for the assessor position. The Township Board interviewed two of those candidates. The Township board felt that Kelly’s experience and knowledge as a head assessor in a rural community set her apart from the other candidates.
Kelly brings to Kimball Township nearly 20 years of assessing experience. For the past 13 years she has been the assessor for northern Macomb County’s, Ray Township. She currently holds a State of Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) certification as well as a State of Michigan Personal Property Examiner Certification. Kelly is a member of the Michigan Assessors Association, Macomb Assessors Association, IAAO and Southeastern Chapter Michigan Assessors Association.
Kelly is currently working to correct two issues that township officials and residents took to the State Tax Commission, personal property and high ECF’s. She is working closely with the State Tax Commission and County Equalization to correct both matters. The Township is hopeful that its tax roll will be returned upon correction of the ECF’s and Personal Property.
