He is getting the salvage yard cleaned up and the tires removed with a $21,000.00 grant. He also let us know that his brother Brian will oversee keeping the junk yard in compliance. We are bringing in a car crash to help with the clean-up.
Usakowski explained that we have gotten several calls on the junk yard. We are glad that you are finally acting in cleaning it up. I would recommend that we have Neil and Chief Gratz go out tomorrow and take some pictures to see what we are starting with. X. OFFICERS REPORT
A. Supervisor Usakowski
Usakowski mentioned that there is a lot going on at the landfill. The Consent Agreement should be finalized here quickly. They are working on a Supplemental Environmental Project instead of paying a fine. It sounds like they are going to establish a committee. Commissioner Smasko asked me to sit on the committee.
We could investigate raising the tipping fees to thirty cents.
The lawsuit against the county for the landfill, the first attorney was dismissed for the people that were filing a class action lawsuit. He did not file the class action requirements, so they did not form a class, and they have thirty days to find a new attorney.
