OPEN MEETING WITH THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: Usakowski, Jackson, Wrubel, Lokers, Reilly, Deland, Bowen
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Representative Pavlov, Deputy Clerk Erdman
- APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion was made by Trustee Deland to approve Agenda as amended to allow Representative Pavlov to speak next. Motion supported by Trustee Bowen
All were in favor, motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Deland to update the wording on the Allen Road Tree Removal motion to reflect the cost of the contract being $4,100.00. Supported by Clerk Wrubel.
Roll Call: Yes: Deland, Wrubel, Usakowski, Jackson, Lokers, Reilly, Bowen. Unanimous.
Motion Carried.
Representative Joseph Pavolv updated the township on what is going on in Lansing.
- PRESENTATION OF DECEMBER 16, 2025, MINUTES
Trustee Deland made the motion to approve the December 16th minutes with the adjustment of the tree amount added. Treasurer Jackson supported the motion. All were in favor, motion carried.

Motion to Pay the bills made by Treasure Jackson with support by Supervisor Usakowski

- Fire Bill Appeal
A non-resident has written to the board requesting leniency about her fire bill, Invoice # 2600000007 in the amount of $2,522.59.
- The Board has asked that Treasurer Jackson talk with the young woman to find out more about her situation and to come back to the board with a recommendation.
- Administrative Assistant Position
The hiring committee interviewed 7 individuals and has narrowed them down to 3 for recommendation to the board. There will be a special meeting held on January 28, 2026, to have the board make a motion on whom to proceed with.
Supervisor Usakowski encouraged the board to do their research.
- Fire Dept Appeal Street-Frye – Please see envelope
The individual is not here to appear before the board. The township cannot move forward with hiring this person.

Dennis Harshman thanked the board for approving the tree removal.
- OFFICERS REPORT
- Supervisor Usakowski
Thank you to the person serving community service with putting in LED lighting in the office. Very nice and bright.
Parking Lot needs light updating; Supervisor Usakowski would like to update to LED lights. B&T Electric has given an estimate of $1770. There are 3 lights that are not working currently.
Trustee Deland made a Motion to approve the estimate of $1,700.00 by B&T Electric to update all of the parking lot lights to LED. Supported by Trustee Reilly.

Motion Carried.
Supervisor Usakowski a tentative budget will be ready for the board to look over by February’s meeting.

We are accepting bid for Library cleaning. Bids will close on February 1st
We will also be accepting Election Inspectors Applications for the year 2026.
DPW has been dealing with water issues in this cold weather.

Went over financials.
If there are any utility bill issues the Treasurer can help when the Utility biller is not available.

Trustee Deland would like to have a copy of the codes for the departments to better understand the financial reports.

Trustee Bowen would like to start working on the Policy and Procedures for the township.

The meeting that was held to go over the Development District Definition with the Lawyer went well.
Trustee Deland made a Motion to close the meeting at 7:20pm. Support from Trustee Bowen. All were in favor, Motion carries.
