Regular Meeting

January 9, 2024

6:30 P.M.

Strait opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Roll Call of Members:   Strait, Nelson and Bowen.

 

Absent:  Orr and Crowe.

 

Also Present:  Neil Erickson, Building Inspector.

 

I.                   Approval of Agenda

Nelson motioned to approve the agenda as presented supported by Bowen.

Motion Carried.

 

II.                Approval of the Minutes-Regular Meeting November 14, 2023

Nelson motioned to approve the agenda as presented supported by Bowen.

Motion Carried.

 

III.             New Business

  1. ZBA Resignation of Board Member Nancy Crowe

We would like to thank Nancy Crowe for her time and service on the Zoning Board.

 

IV.             Old Business

  1. Request for Update:  Variance (777 Scott Road) 74-25-027-1009-300 / 74-25-028-2003-000

Pam Blake said that the perk test and survey came back amazing.  There is a flood zone there but there is a buildable spot that is high enough.

 

Erickson:  The burden is the flood plain and also the river.  They have more than enough frontage, and the wells in that area are very good.  It is just short of acreage.  The river divides the property as well.  She went to EGLE and they invited Erickson to walk the property. 

 

Discussion.

 

Bowen motioned to table the issue to allow time to address issue the opportunity to have the surveyors and homeowner bring back a site plan the reflected the request of the ZBA that there be only one lot less than 10 acres, and to allow the homeowner to give consideration to a solar farm that may be placed across the street of the parcel in question, second by Nelson.

 

ROLL CALL VOTE:  YES:  Bowen, Nelson and Strait.  NO:  None.         ABSENT:  Orr and Crowe.  (3-0-2) Motion Carried.

 

  1. Update to Master Plan: Goals & Objectives

Carwyn explained that this is a rough draft of the Master Plan and Usakowski would like you to discuss goals and objections that you would like to see in it.

 

Nelson:  Discussion of adding mini parks throughout Kimball to create neighborhood parks.  Additional feedback from surveys.

VI.             Officers Reports

Nelson gave a landfill update.

 

Erickson got an email from Joi Turello regarding the testing for air and water at the landfill.

Bowen motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:14 p.m. supported by Nelson.

Motion Carried.
