Parks & Recreation, Press Release, Public Notices, Township News|

Like many other municipalities, Kimball Township has been hit hard with COVID cases. Both residents and staff have seen dramatic increases in cases. We have had 11 members of our staff out over the past two weeks due to COVID.

We have opened Sutherland Park. With Little League ready to restart, we wanted to make sure that the park was open for practices. Because of the high number of COVID cases in the community we have yet to open the restrooms. Other municipalities have taken similar steps. We are working with Little League to find solutions that will work for them. We have ordered additional portable restrooms for Little League Opening Day.

We are asking our community members and park users to be respectful of the park. We have a dumpster out for any garbage that you may accumulate. We were open for a day and the portable restroom on site was tipped over. Actions like that only harm the park and all of it’s users.

Like you, we are hoping this wave of COVID will pass quickly and we will be back to full staff. In the mean time we are working with the St Clair County Health Department and LynxDx to bring a COVID testing site into the parking lot at the Township office. We will have more details within the next couple of weeks. Watch our social media and website for additional information.
