Kimball Township is seeking qualified applicants for a part time Appraiser/Assistant Assessor. This position reports directly to the Township Assessor. Duties & responsibilities include the performance of field inspections to appraise and assess real property, assistance in maintain property assessment rolls and tax map, assistance to assessing customers; and providing clerical work, assistance and secretarial support to supervision.
Necessary qualifications include:
- High school diploma and/or Associate’s degree
- Word processing and clerical/secretarial skills
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid/unrestricted driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
(employee will be performing field work with their own vehicle)
- Ability to perform physical activities, such as climbing, reaching with hands and
- Arms/stooping, kneeling or crouching
Preferred qualifications include:
- Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAR) or higher certification
- Experience with BS&A Assessing Software, Apex, Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of Assessing procedures
Starting wage is $17.00 per hour, 25-28 hours per week. A probation period and/or MCAT certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
