Summary: Current equipment is aged. Need to update and consider additional options including ADA equipment and accessibility.

Too Few Parks, Larger Parks

Summary: Kimball Township has 2 parks, Sutherland Park and Smiths Creek Community Park. We also have a nature trail at the Township’s office on Wadhams

Additional Picnic Tables

Picnic tables

Summary: The township has multiple picnic tables at both parks. Many have both wooden tops and legs making them difficult to move. The township is looking to move to tables with metal legs. 

Many tables are starting to show their age as well. Replacement is necessary.

Disc Golf

Disc Golf

Summary: Disc Golf courses are a popular trend nationwide. However, they do require a large area in which to play. This may be a challenge within our current park system.

More Parking

Sutherland parking

Summary: Parking is often full at Sutherland Park. This can be seen in the summer during Little League games where parking often occurs along the driveway and out on to Howard Rd. Kimball Township has in the past considered parking options including parking along the entrance driveway.

More Nature Trails

Summary: Kimball Township has 2 nature trails. The first is at the township office and the second is at Sutherland Park. There is a request to add additional trails. The county also has the Wadhams to Avoca trail which comes through Kimball Township.
